CROSSDOCKING,
COORDINATED.
Move freight from one trailer to another without it sitting in a warehouse. Tell LOAD X where the freight is and where it needs to go, and the team sources a crossdock that can handle it.
LOAD X sources and coordinates the right provider for each request. LOAD X does not own every facility, truck or crew, and provider availability is confirmed per request — nothing is booked until LOAD X confirms it with you.
WHAT IT IS
Crossdocking is moving freight off an inbound trailer and onto one or more outbound trailers at a dock, usually with little or no storage in between. It is used to consolidate LTL shipments into a full load, split a full load into several deliveries, swap freight onto different equipment, or recover a load when the original truck can’t finish the trip.
A crossdock may also sort freight by destination, count and inspect pallets, relabel, or shrink-wrap before the freight moves on. What a given facility can do varies, which is why LOAD X confirms the details with the facility for each request.
WHEN YOU NEED IT
- A truck broke down, was put out of service, or the driver ran out of hours and the load needs to move to another truck
- You are consolidating several LTL shipments into one outbound load, or breaking a full load into multiple deliveries
- Freight has to change equipment, for example from a 53’ trailer to a box truck for final delivery
- A receiver refused part of a load and the rest has to keep moving
- You need freight sorted, counted or inspected at a dock before it continues
HOW LOAD X COORDINATES IT
- You send the request. Use the request form, NEED HELP NOW, the LOAD X assistant or the 24/7 line. You get a request number and a private tracking link.
- LOAD X reviews it. The team reads the details, checks what’s missing and contacts you if anything needs clarifying.
- The team sources providers. LOAD X reaches out to facilities, crews or carriers that fit the freight, location and timing, and asks each one to confirm availability for this job.
- You confirm the plan. LOAD X brings the option back to you. Nothing is booked until LOAD X confirms it with you, and the tracking page only shows SOLUTION CONFIRMED once it is.
- LOAD X stays your point of contact. Status updates appear on your tracking page (and by email or text if you opt in), and you can add photos or paperwork there at any time.
WHAT TO SEND US
The more of this you include, the faster the team can source the right option. Photos and paperwork can be attached to the request.
- Pickup and delivery locations (city and state at minimum; full addresses if you have them)
- The date you need it done, or whether it’s flexible
- Pallet count, dimensions and approximate weight
- Commodity, and whether anything is hazmat, fragile or high value
- Your name, company, phone and email
- Where the inbound truck is now, and when it can be at a dock
- Inbound and outbound equipment (dry van, reefer, flatbed, box truck)
- Whether freight must stay together, be sorted by destination, or be counted and photographed
- Any appointment times at the final receiver

COMMON QUESTIONS
Can LOAD X crossdock freight today?
Sometimes. Same-day crossdocking depends on a nearby facility having an open door and labor at that time. LOAD X asks facilities directly and tells you what is actually available — it never promises a time before a provider confirms.
Does LOAD X own the crossdock?
No. LOAD X sources crossdock facilities for each request and coordinates the work as your single point of contact.
What does crossdocking cost?
It depends on the facility, the number of pallets, labor, and any sorting or storage. LOAD X works out the cost with you as part of coordinating the request.
